Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better

This is the song for when Carlota and Jose come out as they will be playing Mr and Mrs Twit. Please remember your clothes as Mr and Mrs Twit next week you two so we can film a scene.

Blanca's Babes will just sing the first 30 seconds.

Simply the Best

Rafa's song as director but remember Blanca's Babes will only sing four lines and some of the words will be slightly different.

Well done 4C!

Well done for all your effort in the cake stall!
You worked really hard and you raised 244.48 euros for charity!
I hope you are really proud of yourselves.

Cake Stall

4C,

Well done for all your effort today; I was really proud of you.
It was a piece of cake, wasn't it?!
That is an expression in English which means that it was easy.

I can't wait for tomorrow!

Keeping Healthy!

4C,

We will begin our new science topic of "Keeping Healthy" on Monday so no more making chocolate and cream drinks in class!! Hopefully we will make some healthy smoothies (using fruit juices, water and real fruit) instead in the middle of November (as a reward for all your hard work and our great assembly!!).

Here is a fabulous website called Great Grub to get you thinking about the topic! Enjoy!

Spelling revision!

4C,

I have noticed that many of you need to do a little spelling revision. This website revises both the skimming and scanning technique that you need to use in comprehensions with spelling revision. I will add others in a few weeks. Start with this to revise common English spelling patterns.

I will also add the site to our website list.

See you on Monday,

Miss Sam

Esteban's special homework!

Esteban,

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well; we hope to see you back at school soon.

I'm sure you'd like to do lots of homework while you are off!

You can:
1. Practise this week's spellings (see below).
2. Write sentences using this week's spellings.
3. Practise adding 3 numbers to make 300, 400, 500, 700, 900.
Estimate first and then do it. You cannot use the same number twice.
4. Revise for your science tests. You will do them when you come back to school or if you are going to be away for a while longer, I will give them to Marta who can make sure you do them in test conditions!!
5. Watch the instructional video on here for making a spooky cocktail. Invent your own cocktail for a Roald Dahl character to drink. You could make it with me on Friday if you are back to school then. You need to write down the instructions clearly for your recipe as I would like to put them on display after our assembly.
6. If you are not back tomorrow, I will add the comprehension homework to edmodo for you to do.

Get well soon!

Creepy cocktail!

This week you will be making a Revolting Recipe in groups on Thursday and Friday.

As such, I thought this might help to inspire you.

If you wish to do a Halloween themed cocktail you may but remember it must be linked to a Roald Dahl book. For a treasure point, which Roald Dahl books or characters would this cocktail be good for? I can't imagine Sophie in the BFG or Matilda enjoying it! Can you?

Well done Andrea!

"Well done, you did your best,
Well done, we're so impressed..."

Here is Andrea's certificate!!

Ovum vs ovule

Well done to Andrea for such an interesting question! It's easy to see why you were the Star of the Week! I will put your certificate on here today!
Hector, remind me to print yours again so I can put it on here.

In fourth grade you don't need to understand the difference between the two words ovum and ovule but I think the text books should use the same word all the time so they don't confuse you.

Ovum/Ovule:
The ovum is inside the ovule.

Hope that helps!

Twits' singers

You will only sing the chorus where it says "I should be so lucky" but instead of "I" you will sing "she" to mean Mrs Twit.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Assembly Song

4C,

Sometimes you might find it difficult to find things on the blog as they are from last month etc.

Go to the bottom of the page and click "older posts" and it will show all the other things I have put on here. You could also click on the month name on the bottom right and that takes you to all blogs from that month.

I hope that helps a bit.

The notebook is for Thursday (that will give you a bit more time in case you have been away for the long weekend).

Enjoy your last bit of freedom!

Dahl Day!

Well done to all of you!
I was so impressed with Dahl Day so we shall have to celebrate other days too this year. I can't wait to start practising the assembly with you from next week!

Enjoy your long weekend!

Marta and Omar,

The class were very sad that you both missed our Roald Dahl Day.

We hope you are feeling better and are ready to come back to school soon!

Message for Omar!

Omar,

I know you've been a bit poorly and that you will be off school for a few days so here is a list of things to do:

1. Write your own Twits chapter.
2. Learn the song, "Especially For You" that is on this blog.
3. Revise times tables.
4. Read your library book.
5. Invent a new ending to the Twits and write it.
6. Think about what you want to do in our assembly.
7. Learn about the life cycle of a plant and other life cycles. A good website to help you is the enchanted learning website. Click on life cycles to go to it.
8. Find out any information you can about Romans.

If you go to edmodo I will attach some documents to help you with the Twits' work. I will add more for you tomorrow.

Get well soon - we know you will!

Miss Sam

p.s We ALL miss you.

Our assembly song!

4C,

I know it is very early but start learning this now. This was one of my favourite songs when I was your age (your parents might know KYLIE who sings this).

I thought it would be nice to end with a song about Mr and Mrs Twit being nice to each other fr once!! I will tell you what the rest of the assembly will be about on Monday so that we can begin filming bits for it!

Enjoy the weekend.

Miss Sam
